Yogyakarta Special Province is home of the creative small medium businesses, especially the craft and gift items of Indonesia. Certain local business has supplied their products to hotels in Secyhelles. Amidst the recent eruption of Mount Merapi, the Jogyakarta which has impacted the regions and its people, the Honorary Consul Seychelles Nico Barito on December 16, 2010 has joined the small medium business revitalization program at Sleman Regency and has introduced foreign investor to support the rogram, which is jointly organized with the Director General of Small Scale industry of The Ministry of Industry.
Seychelles Consulate in Jakarta together with its colleagues from the African Union Mission also pledged support to build a pre school facility for the kids in the temporary shelters in one of the provisonal settlement for more than 2400 families at Cangkringan district.
The 2 days visit started with the highlights and presentation on investment prospects in Yogyakarta Special Province and a presentation on post-eruption action to rehabilitate and reconstruct Yogyakarta, a visit to an industrial center in Bantul, cultural performance, a visit to Sleman and areas devastated by eruption of Merapi, dialog with universities and gala dinner hosted by His Royal Highness Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono - X at His Royal Palace

Seychelles Contributes to the rehabilitation of post Merapi Eruption in Indonesia The Ambassador Goodwill for JOGJA Mission

The Ambassadors Goodwill for Jogja is a moral support for the catastrophe of casualties of Merapi Eruption, whereas Ambassadors and Representatives from Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Iran, South Africa, Somalia, Eritrea, Seychelles, Iraq, Croatia, Ukraine, Suriname, New Zealand, Germany, Palestine, Belgium, Bulgary, French, Poland, Canada, Greece, Kuwait, Hungary, Libya, Equador, Jordan, Marocco, Algers, Tunis, Syria, UAE, Egypt, Afghanistan, Lebanin, Switzerland, Austria gathers in Yogyakarta from January 27 to 29 January 2010 and visited the centre of rehabilitation, have audiency with local governments and its people, especially to witness that the business sectors are recuperating. The mission will also announced to counterparts states and friends all around the world that the economy and tourism in Jogyakarta is now reopened and safe for tourism and business.
