Seychelles Tourism Board Hosted African Pavilion During the International Expo of Local Goverments

JAKARTA, 15 - 17 MAY 2013 Special Envoy of Seychelles for ASEAN, Nico Barito invited friendly countries from Africa Union to fill in the Seychelles Tourism booth with information about Africa and its potential. The International Investment and Trade Expo of Local Governments is hosted by APKASI 'Association of Kabupaten(regency)of Indonesia' a prominent local government organization of Indonesia with 416 members. The 1st expo of local governments held at Jakarta International Expo is officiated by Indonesian Coordinating Minister of Economy HattaRajasa on behalf of the President of Indonesia. The 3 days expo attracted over than 10,000 visitors both from local and international businesses. Seychelles invited African Mission in Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur to show case Africa during the business forum which was attended by the regional key economy actors. Mr. Barito of Seychelles who took lead in the session, explained about the potential of Seychelles and its tourism and how Seychelles strategic position can be a hub for ASEAN businesses to link with its African compatriots. Mr. Nico Barito, during the session, was accompanied by Ambassadors and Representatives of Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Tunisia, Nigeria, Sudan, Burkina Faso and Guinea. Other business actors who took active part in promoting Seychelles are Mr. Dougie Douglas the Country Manager of Etihad / Air Seychelles, Mr. Hermawan Kertajaya, Asian Marketing Guru and founder of Markplus and Mr. PuiSudarto, founder of Pulau Intan an Indonesian main construction company and property and resort developer.
